My Reflection of the Soundscapes

i thought that creating soundscapes in drama was a unique and interesting way to create an atmosphere. At first it was sort of hard to create a succesful soundscape because everyone got confused and forgot their sounds, or they didn't know what the different signals that ms. tickle gave us, but after the first couple of tries it generally got better. i think that, although a soundscape is a unique, and sometimes useful way to introdue a piece of drama, or a play, etc. i don't think that it can replace drama as an art yet. this is mainly because it would be very hard and, potentially useless, to create a peformance that totally consisted of gunshots, and cowboys yelling random things at the audiance. It would only further confuse the audiance in general. Although soundscapes might be a good warm-up practice, etc. it should not be used in the actual performance!!!!!
