I think the play went really well. A lot better than i think any of us expected. I thought some people would end up laughing but no one did, which made the play a lot more powerful. I think the start of the play and the end of the play was really powerful, i think that really captured the audiences attention, the sound scape also worked really well and made the part a lot more powerful.
I think we took a lot of time to rehearse but it was all worth it. The final product was really well, but i think that if we had less time too rehearse the play it would not have come out that well. When we were rehearsing the whole play as a class we were always messing up and we were always being told to stop laughing. That is why i was very surprised in the end when none of us laughed.
The child soldier part was the one i was in. We were the first group to perform. I think it went really well. I think we captured the audiences attention at the start because the start was very powerful and there was a lot going on. It was the scene were the lady got shot on the street and everyone is scared watching her...this showed a real life situation. I was only in a short part of my play because i missed a lot of rehearsal time because i was away on sports trips, but i think i caught up pretty well. Writing the script for the play was a lot easier than putting it together and acting it. The script was easier because we all had a rough idea of what we wanted to include in the play because we all got together and discussed it. Trying to perform it was a lot harder because we had a lot of people in our play and it was hard to keep everyone focused but in the end we managed it.
I really enjoyed drama this term because the whole class got to work together and make their own play where we got to put in our own ideas. I think we were also really happy with the final product and all the work we did for it was worth it in the end. I think i got better in drama this term compared to our first lesson cause i couldn't stand in front of anyone and perform i just found it really hard. And honestly i don't think i have ever felt that scared before acting, in front of people. But i feel like i could do it now. I think the performance where we had to perform a monologue really helped me. I think it helped a lot of us for the global issues play as well, and made it easier to perform because we had more confidence.
