WOW
Thats all i really have to say about our play... by luck of some sort and pure genius we pulled it together. During the time we rehearsed we mucked about and goofed off and simply- didn't do anything. I had told my mother that were doing the play but I'll tell her on Tuesday if shes allowed to come... on Tuesday i told her that if she absolutely has too she could but i don't recommend it, so she didn't come. Then when we did fantastically. As my classmates have said, we did miss out quite a few parts of the play. Still, i think that we sent the messages we tried to send. The audience realized the lacking conditions of street children, and a few different organizations that help such children. I think that we sent out a message that we didn't try to send, how cruel adults can be. 3 of the 5 scenes had nasty adults. the messages along with our sound scape(s) created a very touching and emotional piece of theater.
If we were to do it again (for the p8's) then i could make some suggestions for what me might like to change. firs and for most we should study our lines some more, and maybe even practice once more. secondly i think that particular figures should have particular clothing items to signify this. for example the head chief in the soldier scene could have some sort of army hat, and the step mother could have a fancy scarf. thirdly we could have used some more props such as newspapers, toys, money etc. In my opinion these small details could increase the impact of our performance.
It was so much fun scripting, improvising and acting. i would be thrilled to recreate the play for anyone willing to watch us.
